Crystallography. Because? So that? How?…

Crystallography is one of the most unknown sciences despite the enormous implications it has in fields such as biomedicine, materials science or chemistry in our current world. This activity aims to answer the most frequently asked questions that naturally arise when they first speak to you about crystallography. The activity includes a visit to the interactive installations of the CRISTALES exhibition, temporarily installed at the IACT. These facilities allow visitors to be introduced to what crystals are like and what they are for. After this introduction, we will have a guided visit to the IACT Crystallographic Studies Laboratory, during which the Laboratory scientists will explain how we produce and study crystals, and why we do it in the rooms where we work daily and with the laboratory’s most emblematic instruments.
